Is Oculus Rift over before it’s begun?

Certainly it’s lack of an HD consumer model is hampering it’s marketability.

From a development perspective, it’s a great tool given the accessibility of Unity developers.

From a client perspective it presents it’s own challenges, as we’ve seen users struggle to keep vertigo/nausea/motion-sickness at bay for more than a few minutes. One unlucky chap even fell over backwards during the rollercoaster demo and took both Oculus and laptop with him on his journey to the floor!

Personally, I think it gets exciting when we start to pair it with gesture control technology like the LEAP  Motion, or take it further and use the Oculus’ own accelerometer to control a Parrot Drone via nodecopter.
